Say the number once. Stop talking. Know what you will trade.
A script for stating your price plainly and holding it under questions, with prepared answers and a list of trades for any concession.
Many discounts are given before anyone asks. The seller says the price, hears a pause, and starts explaining, apologizing, or cutting. The buyer was only thinking. A price that is stated with hedges invites the negotiation it was afraid of.
Pricing Conversation takes a price you have already set and writes the delivery: one clean statement, a line tying it to the buyer's own cost, a plan for the silence, answers to four common questions, and an ordered list of trades so that any concession comes with something back.
What it produces.
- →A one-sentence price statement with no hedges
- →An anchor line using the buyer's own figures
- →Answers to four common pushbacks
- →A trade list and a polite floor line
- ✦Freelancers and agency owners who soften their rates aloud
- ✦Founders who discount before they are asked
- ✦Salespeople who need a consistent answer to 'can you do better?'
This Playbook assumes you have already chosen a price. It does not include the work of the Pricing Decision Tool: working the pricing levers, building three structures, or testing your rationale. The Pricing Decision Tool is for deciding what to charge and in what shape.

Before you buy.
How is this different from just asking Claude directly?
Asked cold, Claude writes a general negotiation script. This assumes the price is already set and builds the exact words, the silence plan, and the trades, so each concession is paired with something from the buyer.
How is this different from a Tool?
Playbooks are systematically produced to a fixed template and priced accordingly ($12.99). Tools are hand-built, one at a time, and go deeper ($39 to $199). A Playbook gives you a reliable method for routine work; a Tool is for when the judgment matters more than the format. This Playbook assumes you have already chosen a price. It does not include the work of the Pricing Decision Tool: working the pricing levers, building three structures, or testing your rationale. The Pricing Decision Tool is for deciding what to charge and in what shape.
Will this work with ChatGPT, Gemini, and other LLMs?
Yes. You get a native Claude Skill (.zip) that auto-invokes in Claude, plus a plain .md you can paste into a ChatGPT Custom GPT, a Gemini system prompt, or any LLM. The procedure travels with the file.
Can I share this with my team?
It's licensed for your own personal and professional use. The output it produces is yours to circulate. To put the Playbook itself in the hands of a whole team, email hello@authority.md about team licensing.
