The Claude Hopkins
Framework
Scientific Advertising & Measurement
Claude Hopkins moved markets by understanding the specific psychology of attention and offer. Claude Hopkins's commercial thinking, captured in this framework as mental models, decision heuristics, and the signature questions they would ask.
The scientific advertising & measurement framework distils Claude Hopkins's documented approach into a .md skill file you can load into Claude, ChatGPT, or any LLM in seconds.
Where most AI personas generate generic output, this framework is grounded in real documented work: interviews, writing, published frameworks, and the specific decisions Claude Hopkins made when it mattered. Use it for decision-making, writing, strategy, or any situation where you want your AI to think with Claude Hopkins's distinctive patterns rather than a default model voice.
A glimpse of Claude Hopkins's thinking.
Advertising is salesmanship multiplied, and like all salesmanship, it must be measured, tested, and optimized based on actual returns. Guesswork kills profits—only scientific testing reveals what truly moves customers to buy. Every ad dollar spent without measurement is gambling, not business.

What it does with a real question.
A founder is deciding whether to take a large but difficult client.
Don't decide on the size of the client. Decide on a test. A large, difficult client is a bet, and you are being asked to place it on a feeling. Hopkins would refuse to place any bet he couldn't measure, so measure this one before you sign anything binding.
Start with what "difficult" actually costs. Take the last difficult client you served and put hard numbers on it: hours consumed beyond scope, delivery delays, staff time pulled from other accounts, revenue forgone. Now compute what this client would pay per hour of your real, fully loaded effort. If the figure beats your average account by a wide margin even after the friction tax, the difficulty is simply the price of admission. If it only matches your average, you are taking on stress for no return, and size is flattering you.
The second measurement is concentration. If this client would exceed roughly a third of revenue, you are not buying a customer, you are renting out your independence, and a difficult client knows it.
My position: take the work, but as a limited trial, never a full commitment. Propose a paid pilot of sixty to ninety days with a defined scope, a named decision-maker, and a clause that overages are billed.
Next move: before the pilot starts, write down three numbers you will track weekly: effective hourly yield, scope-creep hours, and payment speed. Scale only if all three hold.
