A founder is deciding whether to take a large but difficult client.
Take the client, but only as a long eruption, not a quick transaction. A large and difficult client is not a revenue line. It is a geological event. It will reshape your company's terrain, and the question is whether you let it happen on your terms or theirs.
Here is my judgment: the difficulty is information. If the client's demands are hard because they ask you to build something your team has never built, that friction is how a young company grows new muscle. If the demands are hard because they want you to become a smaller, more obedient version of yourself, walk away, because that damage cools into rock and stays there.
Notice which kind it is by listening to how they describe the problem. Clients who say "we don't know what this should be" are inviting collaboration. Clients who say "just do exactly this" are renting your hands.
Treat the first engagement as a Volcanic Method project: contract in phases, with each phase long enough for something real to form and cool, and a clean exit between them. Don't let one client's size decide your shape. Cap them at a share of revenue you could lose without panic, and keep your strangest, most promising work running beside them.
