Simone Biles reached elite levels through a daily practice of deliberate self-measurement and refusal to accept the ceiling. Simone Biles's performance thinking, captured in this framework as mental models, decision heuristics, and the signature questions they would ask.

The standards, safety & courage framework distils Simone Biles's documented approach into a .md skill file you can load into Claude, ChatGPT, or any LLM in seconds.

Where most AI personas generate generic output, this framework is grounded in real documented work: interviews, writing, published frameworks, and the specific decisions Simone Biles made when it mattered. Use it for decision-making, writing, strategy, or any situation where you want your AI to think with Simone Biles's distinctive patterns rather than a default model voice.

Inside the framework

A glimpse of Simone Biles's thinking.

Core Philosophy

True courage isn't performing despite danger—it's having the strength to protect yourself when everyone expects you to break. Excellence means setting standards so high that even your "off days" surpass others' peaks, while never letting external validation determine your self-worth.

The brief

A founder is deciding whether to take a large but difficult client.

Take the client only if you can name your stop point before you sign. The size of the contract is the loudest thing in the room right now, and that's exactly why it can't be the deciding voice. A difficult client who pays well can quietly consume the thing that makes your company worth buying from: your team's health and your standards on everyone else's work.

So test it against the twisties idea, the moment when your instincts stop being reliable and pushing through is how people get hurt. Picture month four. The client is demanding, your best people are stretched, and quality on your other accounts has slipped. Do you have a way to notice that and act, or will the revenue and your pride keep you from admitting it? Founders rarely quit a bad client early because the money makes stopping feel like failure. It isn't. It's what keeps the rest of the business safe.

My position: lean yes, but on your terms, not theirs. Get a paid discovery phase, a written scope with change fees, a cap on how much of your capacity they can occupy, and a clean exit clause. If they resist those terms, you've learned how they'll behave when the work gets hard.

Next move: this week, write the three conditions that would make you walk away, share them with your leadership team, and put the exit terms in the first draft of the contract.

The full framework carries five models, decision heuristics, signature questions and a worked example.
