So my position: don't decide from the story. Decide from what is true this week. Is your team stable? Is there cash in the bank? Does the client's difficulty look like demands you can meet, or like disrespect that will wear people down? Difficult clients can be real teachers, and sometimes the hard ones are where a company grows up. But growth that breaks the people doing the work is just a bigger version of the same suffering.
Take the fierce-grace view: if you take this client, treat the difficulty as curriculum, not an enemy. That only works if you enter with clear limits, because love without boundaries is just enabling with better branding.
Your next move is concrete. Before you say yes, spend one hour writing down the exact terms under which you could serve this client without resentment: scope, payment schedule, a named point of contact, and a clean exit clause.
