A founder is deciding whether to take a large but difficult client.
Take the client, but only if the difficulty is the kind that makes you better. A large, demanding client is the equivalent of a bigger stage: it forces you to play at a level you could not reach in an empty stadium. Most founders already know the money is attractive. The real question is whether the difficulty will teach you something or just drain you.
Run it through one test: will your team feel joy in doing this work, or only dread? Hard clients are survivable when the work itself is good, when people can point at the result and feel proud. They are poison when the difficulty is mostly politics, shifting demands, and disrespect. Grinding through that kills the thing that made your company worth building. If the client's problem is genuinely interesting and the pain is mostly scale, say yes. If the pain is mostly the client's behavior, the size will not rescue you.
Also look at what you would be carrying. One client who can swing your revenue by a third owns your freedom to play loose, to take creative risks, to say no. Protect that freedom first.
