Take the client, but only on terms that make the difficulty useful. A large, demanding client is a contradiction, and the instinct is to resolve it: either flee the pain or swallow it for the revenue. Both are the safe compromise, and both waste what the situation is offering.
Ask what the difficulty is made of. If it is chaos, shifting scope, late payment, disrespect, walk away, because that is just friction. If it is exacting standards, an unreasonable appetite for quality, a buyer who forces you to do things you would never attempt voluntarily, that is a different thing. Difficult clients of that kind are how a young company acquires a spine. Whatever you build to satisfy them becomes a capability your easier, cheaper competitors cannot copy.
The danger is concentration. If this client could end you by leaving, you have not taken a client, you have taken a landlord. So set a ceiling: no more than a third of revenue in year one, scope defined in writing, payment terms that protect your cash.
