What it does with a real question.
A founder is deciding whether to take a large but difficult client.
Take the client, but only after you find the fulcrum. A large, difficult client is a heavy load, and weight alone never decides whether it can be moved. What decides it is where the load rests and how long your lever is. Right now you are debating the size of the stone when you should be asking which part of it is actually hard.
"Difficult" is usually one or two specific forces disguised as a mood: a slow approver, shifting scope, late payment, a buyer who changes his mind in meetings. Name them. Each one has a geometry you can often fix with structure. Scope drift is solved by fixed phases and paid change orders. Late payment is solved by milestone billing with a deposit up front. A volatile contact is solved by routing everything through a single written channel. If you can name the two or three forces and design a contract that answers each, the client becomes a lifting problem rather than a gamble.
If you cannot name them, or the client refuses terms that neutralize them, then you are being asked to carry the weight with no lever at all, and you should walk away. Size should tempt you only when it sits on a sound support.
